At Zen Attitude Acupuncture, we strive to make holistic healthcare accessible and easy to understand. For acupuncture services, we accept all car insurance and PIP insurance for auto accidents. We are also in network with TriWest and most major Hawaii insurance plans, making it simple for patients to use their benefits. For those paying out of pocket, acupuncture visits are priced at $150 for the first visit and $100 for all follow-up appointments.
For massage therapy, we accept all auto-related car insurance and TriWest, while all other plans are considered self-pay. Our massage therapy rates are $150 for a 90-minute session and $100 for a 60-minute session, providing high-quality therapeutic bodywork tailored to your needs.
Our Naturopathic Medicine services are currently not billed through insurance; however, we are happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we encourage you to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn more about your out-of-network benefits.
We are conveniently located in Suite #1605 at Century Square, and we provide one hour of free parking validation in the Century Square garage for all patients. If you have any questions regarding insurance, payments, or scheduling, feel free to call us at 808.524.8715 or email info@zentude.com. Please note that we share the same phone number as Hawaii Natural Medicine.
To ensure smooth scheduling, we respectfully request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or appointment changes. A $75 fee will apply to late cancellations or last-minute rescheduling. Your cooperation helps us continue offering high-quality, timely care to all patients.

My name is Phi-Lan Nguyen and I am a co-owner and the founder of Zen Attitude. I am practicing in Honolulu, HI. From a very young age, I got to experience the effectiveness of acupuncture through family members and how relaxed and happy they would come away from treatments. At 16, my mother suffered her 3rd and most severe stroke. At this age, I learned very quickly the role of caregiver and also the frustrations of not having enough resources for my mother’s recovery. Within about a year, both Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy had decided that her process had plateaued. She could barely walk, prepare her own food, and would tear up when she couldn’t find the words she was looking for. Our family was told that most stroke survivors make very little recovery after 2 years. This of course did not take into account other modalities such as acupuncture.
It is amazing how even after over 2 decades post stroke, my mother has recovered to the degree that she has today. She is walking, can take care of her basic needs such as showering and eating, can express herself verbally, and could even pick arguments with my father occasionally. I am grateful to Western medicine for saving my mother’s life, and am very grateful to Eastern Asian medicine for increasing her quality of life, as that is the best currency we have.
My focus and passion as an Acupuncturist is to effectively increase that currency called quality of life for patients. Whether I am giving you a tune up, helping you with any chronic or acute issue, working with your other practitioners towards better health, or am the very last option you would have ever considered, I am committed to help you achieve the results you need.
I received my dual Masters of Science degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine from Bastyr University in 2010. I have a particular interest and specialize in neurological conditions such as nerve impingements and sensations, migraines, traumatic brain injury, stroke and Bell’s Palsy, and also any other neurological diseases such as Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. I spent over 1350 clinical hours at Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Wallingford, Harborview Medical Center in the Chronic Fatigue Clinic, HIV/AIDs clinic, and International Clinic, and Providence Mt St Vincent’s Nursing Center. My last intensive externship was spent at three different hospitals in Shanghai.
I welcome any issue you may be experiencing, as my focus is to treat the person as a whole and not symptomatically. My treatments may include a blend of acupuncture, cupping, dietary advice, coaching, and health education.
All walks of life are absolutely welcome at our office, with no discrimination towards race, religion, sexual and/or gender orientation.
For existing Seattle and Bellevue patients, please call or text the Seattle (206-466-2933) office if you'd like a personal recommendation from Phi Lan for one of our team members!

My name is Sergio Andrade and I am a licensed massage therapist in Honolulu, Hawaii at Zen Attitude Acupuncture. Originally from Sacramento, California, I joined the US Air Force and was fortunate to have my last assignment here on Oahu where I’ve continued to be a guest for 10+ years. For me, living in Hawai'i has been an amazing experience that has offered so much personal healing and support from the aina and the warm and welcoming people who call it home.
As a massage therapist my goal is to provide services to support my community in a variety of ways that are free of judgment, stress and fear. I enjoy helping others and felt that this new career would allow me to do that while also helping myself too because I like the idea of working in an environment where wellness is the focus.
My practice includes the following modalities:
Therapeutic Massage modalities such as Sports, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and Assisted Stretching.
Relaxation Massage using a combination of Swedish, Reiki, Flower Essences and Aromatherapy.
Energetic Therapy modalities such as Reiki and Aromapoint therapy to clear and balance your energetic bodies.
I categorize treatment options to make it easier to see what I offer, but really each treatment session is going to be unique. What I’ve learned is that what you needed last week may not be what you need today, and so I tailor each treatment based on your current needs and goals.
I’m passionate about this new chapter in my life and look forward to sharing what I've learned with you.
I am available for Massage at Zen Attitude on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
